Like most of you, I did not come from a wealthy family. In fact, my family and I came to the United States in 1995 from Belarus, a former republic of the Soviet Union, when I was just 12 years old, with barely enough money to make ends meet. My parents worked very hard to succeed in America and so did I. Over the last two and a half decades, I went from not being able to speak English to earning a law degree to building enough wealth and passive income to be on the cusp of that elusive “financial freedom” coveted by so many investors. Real estate has played, and continues to play, a major role in my success.
I began investing in real estate in 2011, starting with an owner-occupied duplex, which I purchased with the intent of offsetting some of my housing expenses. Little did I know at the time that this one decision would send me on a path of continuing self-education and growth through real estate investing. On this blog, I share what I have learned during the course of my journey so far and show you how you to follow in my footsteps, hopefully without the many mistakes that I made along the way.
Power of Real Estate
What makes real estate investing so powerful and exciting, is that your profits have very little to do with the number of hours you put into your real estate investment. If you position yourself correctly, take the necessary steps, and execute, you can easily earn more from one real estate investment that took you just a few weeks of total effort to accomplish than you could working a full time job for an entire year. What’s more is, for the same amount of effort, you can build a stream of recurring income that will pay you for decades into the future. That is powerful stuff.
I am by no means a real estate guru, nor would I ever want to be one. I certainly do not know everything there is to know about real estate. But, what I do offer on this blog is a unique perspective that not many other bloggers can offer. While there are numerous real estate blogs and websites out there with great information, very few of them combine practical investing experience with a deep understanding of the relevant legal concepts that concern real estate investors. That is what I bring to the table and I hope that you will find this content valuable. Stick around and let’s learn, invest, and succeed together.
